expensive yellow dress

expensive yellow dress

Yesterday, on my way out of Sarah Locke’s Tribal bellydance class in Soho, I walked into a store called Unpomela, on Spring St. At first I spotted a gorgeous yellow dress that sort of looks like this and was over $350, which I held up in front of the mirror, admired for minute and put right back on the rack.

Right before the store closed, at like 8:55pm, I spotted an off-white satin dress with a net tutu sort of poof built into the skirt. I don’t know what struck me, but I tried it on, it looked good and I bought it. Oh boy, what a mistake. What I bought is this horrible poofy mess, that takes the whole “Sex and the City” theme way too far! It would be an awesome dress for a Bridesmaid, but NOT for the work party that I was dress hunting for!

Here’s proof of my my disasterous mistake. I guess I’ll just cut my losses at this point and try to re-sell it on eBay, unless I luck out and one of my best friends decides to get married real soon and make me Maid of Honour.

OMG I just bought a “sexy” vest from there that made me look so hot in the store. When I got home, even my boyfriend asked, why did you buy that? You look frumpy. Another item still with tags to add to my clothing graveyard. I wouldn’t be caught dead with the vest I bought. It was $70 (sniffles)

I also bought a coat in there that looked fabulous on the mannequin, and when i got home to actually put it on.. HIDEOUS. The lining was baggy and hung out from the sleeves as well as below the coat. I got in a medium (Im usually a small) and it still wouldnt button without stretching. Of course they wouldnt return it or do a store credit, so now im stuck with a coat that i can never wear. However i filed a complaint with my credit card company for defective merchandise, so i got my money back but still have an ugly coat.Maybe Ill sell it for $10 bucks on ebay, though i feel bad for even allowing someone else to wear it…

Hmm, perhaps i can make a really pretty pillow cover out of it!!

Sell it on Ebay!! the longer you keep it, it’ll remind you of your mistake & get uglier! I swear!

I actually did sell it for $9.99 on eBay. I’m so glad to have gotten rid of it, and am not ashamed to have passed on the mess to someone else for 1/7th the price. Don’t make your jacket into a pillowcase! It’ll give you nightmares if you actually have to sleep on it!
